GRACE ALONE, FAITH ALONE,
SCRIPTURE ALONE

GRACE ALONE:

God's grace is the only reason we have salvation.  Jesus paid the penalty for our sin.

FAITH ALONE:

The believer in Christ is saved, and freely receives the forgiveness of sins, through faith alone.  This faith, given by the Holy Spirit, is an active power in our lives, bearing the fruit of good works.  However the works do not save us; we are saved through Christ's sacrificial death.

 SCRIPTURE ALONE:

The basis of our beliefs is the Holy Bible.  Explanations of our beliefs are found in the Creeds:  the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed; the Small and Large Catechisms; the Augsburg Confession; the Smalcald Articles, and the Formula of Concord.

THE GREAT COMMISSION

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, low, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Matt 28: 19-20

WHAT WE DO

We share the Word of Christ in our teachings, practices and mission activities.  'The noblest and greatest work and the most important service we can perform for God on earth is bringing other people and especially those who are entrusted to us, to the knowledge of God by the Holy Gospel.'  Martin Luther

OUR COMMUNITY

We celebrated our 75th Anniversary as a congregation in Chatham, Ontario in 2021.  Founded in 1946, and first meeting in the home of one of our members,  we now meet at our barrier free Church on McNaughton Ave.

THE WORD OF THE LORD  REMAINS FOREVER:VDMA

Verbum Domini Manet in Anternum:

The Word of the Lord Remains Forever

This is the motto of the Lutheran Reformation, which testifies to the enduring power and authority of God's Word.  It was also the motto adopted for the 75th Anniversary of our Congregation.
